Spring Yoga Day
Time to Open Up and Revitalise
Sunday 21st April 2024
Join us for a Full day of Yoga, Meditation and Relaxation from 9.30am - 4.30pm. Take time out for yourself
Spring Yoga
Practising yoga in Spring is quite different to in the Winter. Winter is all about recuperation and energy conservation, whereas in Spring, beginning mid March, we need to start opening up the body, gently.
The floor postures are all about opening the heart and abdominal areas, expanding the chest and lungs. Postures like upward dog, half pigeon and camel as shown in the pictures on the side.
As the clocks move forward in March, we look forward to longer days and lighter evenings. We are woken up by the dawn chorus of the birds and quite gently we are coerced into a natural light lift of energy.
It is truly a wonderful time to start practising a little yoga and meditation each day. This wonderful Yoga Day will get you off to a right start and bring warmth and sunshine back into your body to open up all your senses :
- Loosen your neck, shoulders and hips
- Clear your sinuses and head with more oxygen
- Open up your hips and pelvic area
- Stretch your spine and back muscles
- Start to feel alive and awake after the cold winter months
The Yoga Day mini retreat is held in a stunning little village in Buckinghamshire with plenty of space in the hall and a small garden to sit outside if the weather is good. We have a large kitchen in the hall to provide everyone with hot drinks throughout the day.
Energy Burst
- Like the daffodils, be the first to burst open with vibrant energy
- Open the heart chakra and release any tension from the body
- Feel deeply relaxed and calm
- Enjoy good company with like minded people
- Nourish your body and mind with renewed energy

Your Yoga Teachers
I will be joined with my colleague Karuna White to teach with me on this Yoga Day. We have run several workshops together and also Yoga Retreats.
We both trained with the Ruth White School of Yoga and Karuna has been teaching yoga for over 25 years. Karuna has a BSc Human Physiology. She is particularly experienced at helping her students alleviate back and neck problems through alignment, great posture and core strengthening. Her teaching allows you to reach a deeper state of relaxation and feeling revitalised in mind, body and spirit.
Yoga Day Testimonials
“Thank you so much for an absolutely amazing day! It was just perfect. The energy in the room was so restorative and calming, just what was needed!”

“There wasn’t a part I didn’t enjoy. Lovely venue made cosy by candles. Having adjustments made during the postures made a such a difference, I have never been in a class where I have had this. One thing I will remember is a wonderful sense of peace on the whole day.”
