How does hypnosis work?
- It works directly on the subconscious mind.
- The process involves an induction state of deep relaxation of the mind and body called hypnosis.
- In your normal waking state, you might ignore or brush off questions which lead you to examine long held, never questioned beliefs or patterns of behaviour.
- In the hypnotic state, you are likely to be more open to proposals or advice and this is where the magic happens.
- In just two to three sessions you will often notice significant changes, and these will seem automatic and effortless.
Your Hypnotherapy sessions
Very different from the myths
When some people think about hypnosis, they think of stage hypnosis shows. These are events people attend knowing that there is a chance that they will be selected to go on stage and be asked to perform comedic acts for the audience. Hypnotherapy sessions are very different from this.
As a qualified hypnotherapist, I offer hypnotherapy sessions to my clients to help them achieve a specific goal that they have in mind, something they want to change or move on from. There’s a structure and a purpose to the appointments. In hypnosis you are still fully in control. If you don’t want to do something that is suggested to you, then you just won’t do it. You are always in control and the one making the choices.
A single session is generally not enough to achieve an effective outcome. It is advisable to have a set of three weekly consecutive sessions to achieve best results.
Sometimes my clients may need more than three sessions if the issue is deeper or if they decide to move on to another area of their life.
