Mindfulness Courses
Earl Soham, Suffolk
Mindfulness is often described as simply learning to live in the present moment. And yes, it is very much about slowing down, becoming aware of the here and now, and finding a sense of peace within ourselves in what can sometimes feel like a busy and chaotic world.
But mindfulness is also much more than that.
When practiced regularly, mindfulness becomes a gentle yet powerful therapeutic process. It helps us understand our thoughts, emotions, and reactions more clearly, and it teaches us how to meet life with greater steadiness and awareness rather than stress or overwhelm.
Over time, mindfulness helps us develop a healthier relationship with our inner world, which naturally begins to influence how we live, communicate, and relate to others.
Mindfulness in Everyday Life
Many people are surprised to discover that they are already being introduced to mindfulness through coaching or wellbeing practices.
In my coaching sessions, clients often experience simple mindfulness techniques without necessarily recognising them as such. These practices help bring attention back to the present moment and create space for reflection, clarity, and emotional balance.
Mindfulness techniques may include:
- Guided meditation
- Body awareness practices such as the body scan
- Breath awareness and calming breathing techniques
- Gentle mindful movement
- Guided visualisation
- Mindful listening and communication practices
- Reflection and awareness exercises
These simple practices gradually train the mind to become calmer, clearer, and more balanced.
The Benefits of Practising Mindfulness
Like any skill, mindfulness becomes more effective with regular practice. Over time, many people begin to notice subtle but meaningful changes in their lives.
People often experience:
- Less tension in the body
- A calmer and clearer mind
- Better quality sleep
- Greater emotional balance
- Increased resilience when facing challenges
- A deeper sense of joy and appreciation for everyday moments
- Stronger connections with others
- Greater compassion for themselves and those around them
- A renewed enjoyment of hobbies, nature, and simple pleasures
My Own Journey with Mindfulness
Mindfulness and meditation have been part of my personal and professional life for many years.
During my intensive 500 hour yoga teacher training almost two decades ago, we practiced meditation and mindfulness every week. One of the teachings that stayed with me most strongly was the simple yet powerful intention of bringing full awareness to the present moment in whatever we are doing.
During that training I was also introduced to transcendental meditation, a silent meditation practice using a mantra. While this is part of my own spiritual practice from time to time, I find that mindfulness meditation is often easier and more accessible for most people to learn and integrate into everyday life.
Books such as The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle also deeply influenced my understanding of presence and awareness.
Over the years, mindfulness has become a natural part of how I teach, coach, and support others in their wellbeing.
- Joy
- Openness
- Less tension in your body
- Clear head
- Quality sleep
- More energy
- Connection to nature
- Enjoy hobbies
- More fun
- Compassion for yourself and others
- Connection with others
- Intimate relationships

You Are Very Welcome
Mindfulness is not about perfection. It is simply a practice of returning, again and again, to the present moment with curiosity and kindness.
With regular practice, it can bring greater calm, clarity, and joy into everyday life.
1 to 1 Mindfulness Support
For those who prefer a more personalised approach, I also offer individual mindfulness sessions. These can take place in person or online and can be combined with coaching to support emotional wellbeing, stress management, and personal growth.
“Learning mindfulness with Suzy has taught me a great deal about myself, and am now more able to control the thoughts in my head, take time out and relax. Suzy has taught me some invaluable techniques to cope with anxiety and stress which I incorporate into my daily routine, and regular sessions ongoing sessions with her helped to reinforce the learning”
